Ok, I'm going to ressurect my old Blueberry book, one of the first 200 off the line to give you an idea how old it is. Any how, I'm replacing the MB as the ethernet fried, unless someone knows of a cheaper repair(according to PB Parts, there's no alternate if I want a functional Ethernet port), adding memory and a bigger HD(10G) as well as replacing the broken speaker and dead battery.

The only thing left is the CD Rom drive, which I'd like to replace with a CD burner if possible. Is it? What do I need to look for in a burner?

And anybody have links to disassembly instructions?

what about a USB ethernet adaptor? and you might consider using external peripherals that you can hang on to when you get rid of the ibook.

Mmmm, I don't plan on getting rid of it. Its been retired for 6 months now, but I decided to resurrect it. Airport has given me the Ethernet capability, but basically, I want to do a combination restoration and hot rodding to this. I did see a 366MHZ non-Firewire Motherboard on eBay, which left me scratching my head. When'd they make such a combo?

Technically I don't need the Ethernet as I have Airport, but I want it for two reasons, one is that it doesn't hurt to have it, and two, if that's hard wired to the MB and has failed, what'll fail next?
