ok im gonna change this in the summer and i wanted to know if it was possible to turn the old hard drive into an external firewire(400 or 800 pref 800) to use on my pMac?

is this possible or am i dreaming?

It's possible, easy, and a smart idea. Just buy an external firewire case for 2.5 inch drives. They're not hard to find online.

just pay attention, to what connection they use. I am pretty sure you can even power your 2.5" drive if its a 6-pin firewire cable. Just browse through the selection at newegg.com thats where I got my HD case from.
