puck="Apple USB Mouse"
optical mouse with tension adjuster="Apple Pro Mouse"
optical mouse w/o tension adjuster="Apple Mouse"
optical bluetooth mouse="Apple Wireless Mouse" (I think)

And it's "optical mouse", not "infrared" or "laser" (it's visible red light, not infrared which is invisible to humans, and it's not a laser, just a red LED).

As for what to do with a dead Pro Mouse... umm, beats me! Your loose change tray sounds like a good idea!
