I have a PB 667 DVI. Is there a way to overclock it, say to 800? If it gets destroyed so be it, i am willing to take the chance Thanks

Never seen the instructions for it.
800 would be risky though.
I'm sure it can be attempted. But you'll need to find or work out the PLL settings.

I read somewhere that the 667 and the 800 uses the same chip, but the best would be marked 800 and the "bad" would be marked 667. So, how can it be that it wont work to overclock it? Thanks again

If it would run with standard cooling at 800, it would be clocked to 800.
With some chips, you stand a good chance of getting more speed out of it, but remember G4s have always struggled with clock speeds compared to PCs, so they tend to wring as much as possible out of them at the factory.
If your 667 were to run OK at 800. it would be pure fluke.
For "it won't work..", read: " At best it will crash all the time, and burn your lap. At worst, it will melt, and maybe catch fire".

Ok, friends. Thanks for the warnings, but like I said: I am willing to risk it!
But what I need to know is how? What multipliers do I move/solder?

As far as which resistors to move, I don't know. But I will say that I wouldn't be surprised at all if the CPU could handle a clock speed of 1GHz or higher. It is a 7455 afterall, and even the 7455A could run towards 1.1-1.2GHz when overclocked, the current 7455B even higher. The problem with overclocking your PowerBook would not be the CPU's clock speed ceiling, but the amount of heat the thing would put off. 867 or 933MHz would probably be the max you would want to push it when you do find out which resistors to move.
Also, overclocking is nice, but there is no need to not care whether or not you destroy your PowerBook. They are expensive machines. If you really value it so little that you don't care if you fry it, then be nice sell it for a few hundred to somebody who is not financially endowed that would love to have it but cant afford one at the usual eBay going price.

Ok, thanks for your answers If anybody has a clue how to do it or have a picture of a PB ti 800 motherboard with the multiplier-settings let me know.
I have overclocked many macs (iMac 233 to 300, iMac 333 to 400, PB 400 ti to 500, iMac G4700 to 800 and G4 DP800 to 867). Most of them have worked flawlessly, but some has crashed after a while. BUT, I have never burned/destroyed a CPU. I have just clocked it back down and everything is normal. Thats why I really want to try to OC this PB 667
Keep up the good work, thanks
