Just read in the latest issue of MacUser that its possible to overclock a 750FX iBook G3 via the software with iCook and Terminal...

... is the same possible with the original iMac slot-loaders?

I looked into this myself and was told/read that it's only possible to overclok the ibook proc is because of the proc. The 750fx is able to change it's clockspeed w/out physically changing the multipliers.

I tried this but it didn't work for me, I only tried the 500mhz configuration since documentation said that that was how far that specific proc was pushed.

I don't mean to sound like an ignoramus, but the guide ain't too clear - does this actually involve soldering of any sort... the guide merely says 'configure resistors'. It doesn't say how...
