I have an eMac thats too loud. The fan that comes in these things is awful. I was wondering if they make a fan that is quieter but has the same cooling power. Or is it possible to liquid cool it (without being so complicated that it makes your brain hurt)? I'v never modded my mac so go easy on me if these are dumb questions.

It may be possible to simply slow the fan down according to this upgrade guide - I believe you can get short cables with the correct connectors on the end and you insert them into the fan cable. I'm not sure if they just have a resistor to reduce the current or something smarter which is a bit more thermostatic and varies the speed with cooling demand. I'd like ot try it myself, but I have not got a round tuit.

EDIT: I posted that then had a look at the site again and noticed it has been updated - so it seems people are putting fan controllers in.

That sounds odd to me, I have the newest 1.25ghz eMac, and don't even notice the fan at all, do you have the older model? I've never heard of that issue before.
