it should work fine, if you adjust the jumpers accordingly

Two questions then:
a) How would I configure the jumpers? and...
b) Why would I need to do so?

I'm new to much of this, and I also have a Gigabit Ethernet that I'm wanting to upgrade.

just move the jumpers. I'm not sure if they include a thing that shows it or not, but there is one on the giga website www.gigadesigns.com it will show you the position they should be in.

the jumpers determine the bus multiplier (which determines the clock-speed.
