Is it possible? My friend has a 6800 Ultra that he'd give me for about $120, with a badass cooler. Can they be flashed to macs?

A couple peoples' experiance would suggest otherwise: http://strangedogs.proboards40.com/i...ead=1115014231

Its a long read through, but it seems promising. The no DVI issue, of course rears its ugly face up with this card.

The thread has kinda died over the past couple weeks (?!?). Hopefully someone will be able to share more experiance with this soon. It would definitely be a kick-ass card for a G4.

Does anyone know how to tell by looking if a video card is for the mac or pc?

Lateralus, you should know, Powertrippin just traded in his MacNN card for a CashforMacNN screen name at "you know where". He's been slamming you and this website ever since.

I've already seen your name, address, and phone number given out (I would never give out such a thing even though it's been readily available over "there", i wont say where) and they are slamming MacNN in general. So watch your back. Hpence is a pawn who's lost the good credibility he once had defending a suspended criminal ebayer AMACAPART who everyone here knows. This guy has ripped off 30-40 people on ebay and had 20-25 negative feedbacks for fraud before ebay suspended and subsequently banned him permanently from ebay. There are probably even criminal investigations on this guy. Now he's Tewlboy starting all over again here with the help of poor Hpence hawking his crap and he'll probably never even ship out anything just like he didn't to those 25-50 people on ebay .
Then he'll disappear and come back under another name or strange website or another tewl will start pushin his ebay crap.

You need to clean house dude cuz your house is already out!

no one is selling 6800ultras on ebay or otherwise. Im not sure why you brought all this BS up yet again, Mitch - or why you have yet another account name. We are trying to get some more successful flashes for g4 and g5 users. Why you continue your parade of lies is beyond me (since when was Lateralus' personal info posted, or even brought up?).

Im not defending Amacapart's past actions nor does it have anything to do with the topic at hand (flashing a 6800ultra, in case you forgot). If 'hawking' valid information on graphics card flashing is in someway wrong, thats news to me.

Powertrippen: Do you happen to have a pic of the card?

My guess is it will most likely will flash and produce an image, but im almost positive DVI will not work. With a little time and experimentation - I bet we could get that issue resolved too. I highly encourage you to get in contact with those who know more about the 6800 ultras so we can make more progress here.
