Hi All. I have an emac, and the screw on the user access door that allows me access to the memory slot has been trashed by someone repeatedly trying to open it with the wrong screwdriver. Any tips on how I can get the screw open and into the slot?

Best wishes, I'm keen to upgrade my memory, but just can't get at the slot!

If you can grab the head of the screw with Pliers or ViseGrips, do it, then go find another screw the same size and thread to replace it with. OR

Get a small tap & die set from a hardware store, tap a stud into the center of the screw head, remove the tap from the tap tool, and back out the screw by grabbing the bit with pliers or VG

but I just thought about something, you may need to go to a hobby shop to find a tap & die set small enough for what you're doing....if the hdwr store doesnt have one that small ............
