The folks over at strangedogs.com have done it again & with some guidance from the crew, I picked up a PC 6800GT refurb from chiefvalue.com for $214.00 (sweet) flashed it with Mac rom & installed it in my 2GHZ DP G5. The results are absolutley stunning. The stock 9600 was choking on Doom3 @ 800X600 and now I get respectable framerates @ 1280x1024.

Good to hear, congrats. How difficult would you rate the process?

That depends on how prepared one is & what hardware is available. The card can be flashed on a Mac or a PC. I have flashed a handful of cards to date and I've always used a PC...just much easier for me. It's about a 10 minute process including the time spent swapping cards in & out. Detailed instructions have been on the cubeowner forums for quite some time. It's definately MUCH easier when peeps like the crew at strangedogs.com have already done the work & research & provide a working/tested "rom" file. If I didn't feel confident this process, there's no way I'd do it for my new G5
