I already had the 9700 Pro, which I bought new back in the day. PC 9800's can be flashed to work with Macs also.

You're much better off getting honest advice here or Cubeowner.com.

I guess got lucky, then. I mailed my PC 9700 to a member who lives near Atlanta who soldered a 128k ROM chip on, flashed the card, and sent it back to me in a week for $40. This was about a year ago. so take it what it's worth.

PartybyMarty? if so, u did luck out, you got one of the honest guys over there. He's on the up and up. I bought something from him once myself and it worked just fine. He also stays away from all the bitter arguments over there too. Not that it matters now, but, last I checked, the Apple Radeon 9700 original ROM is not a 128k ROM because the MDD Powermacs it was designed for do not offer MacOS 9 support, hence no need for a 128k ROM chip, but no harm done either. Few people realize how easy it is to do these things themselves. You don't even need a PC to convert a Radeon 9700 for a Powermac G4. It's very simple with Graphiccelerator.
