I found an empty Mac SE case on eBay. Thinking about bidding on it but wondering how realistic and possible it is to mod the Mini inside SE. The idea sounds great but need some advices and comments.

I found a 9-10 inch LCD fits the SE/Classic monitor hole nicely, if that's the direction you want to go. There's plenty of room in there for a Mini, you could probably fabricate a new back with the correct ports, but I don't know how easily you can move the optical drive, but extending the floppy slot to accept CD's would be fairly easy.
These might help give you ideas:

That'd be quite a trick. The buttons would be hard because each keyboard attaches buttons differently. I have a macally USB keyboard right here next to an Apple ADB one. The keys look like they'd line up but idk how well they keys would transfer.
Also, would you link to the auction (if it's still going). I have a Classic case that I'd be willing to price competitively.

You can use an old ADB keyboard and hide an ADB to USB adapter either in the case or hanging out the back.
