Hi,
Any ideas if I'd be able to transplant my HD from my (dead) G3 ibook into my Bondi iMac? Or are they completely different?
Thanks,
Matt

You'll need an adaptor. They are cheap and plentiful on eBay. I have bought 4 so far.

Great, thanks. Once last question - I read on another forum that the adaptor would need to be powered - is that the case?

Power is what the white plug is for, so yes, the adapter is powered.

There are 2 cords on an EIDE desktop HDD (the kind in the iMac) . One is for signal (40-pin), and the other is for power (4-pin). There is one cord on an EIDE laptop HDD (the kind in the iBook [44-pin]). They are natively compatible and adapters are sinfully cheap to manufacture. I would bet that you could get one for 5 bucks plus shipping.
