Hi, since i'm gonna travel to the Usa and i want a macbook pro I thought that I could buy it there and save some money (well, actually a lot of money: 600 €! ). The problem is that the italian keyboard is quite different from the american and I don't want to put sticks on it to remember the different configuration. So: does anybody know if it is possible to substitute some keys (the numbers and those at the right of the letters), and if it is so, where do I find them?
Thanks

Jabbawack, it is certainly possible to switch the keys around!
The keys, if you are careful, and don't use too much force, can be easily individually removed. Perhaps you could move around the physical keys so that they more clearly resembled an italian layout? And then under your preferences, obviously, switch the keyboard to Italian there too.
If you are worried about missing keys that are very unique, perhaps with accents and such, then you could try picking up some of those keys at a salvage place in Italy? Although it is unlikely with such a new model.
Yesterday though, at an MSU Salvage shop, there was a 17" Powerbook keyboard up for keys for sale. Things like that are great. I guess it just depends if you are asking more about relocating the keys you already have (you can) or if you need new keys altogether...

actually i need different keys, as you said the accented vocals and the number keys. Tomorrow I'm gonna call 3 apple-affiliated shops round here and gonna ask if they can sell me the keys, but I would'n bet on it.. if the can't, i'll try to call apple directly. anyway any suggestion is VERY welcomed.
There's also a problem that i've read somewere that the Enter key has a different shape and it would be a big probleme, since i need those keys round the enter.
Anyway, thanks a lot, Tenacious!

Apple do not sell individual keys, even to service centres. The only online places I know which sell them are in the US.
You will likely have to buy the whole keyboard, which can be ordered as a service part.
I would be surprised if the keys from a PowerBook are not interchangeable with those of the MBP.

i've called apple and they told me that i can change the whole keyboard, as said by waragainstsleep. it will cost me around 100 € with the work and all, but i will save 500 € anyway.
it's not a service from apple, at least not in italy, but they told me that the warranty won't be touched.
thanks for your help!
