I've been poking around the fourms here for a little while researching what I could on upgrading my G4 Yikes! 450 with RAM.

I'm wondering if there is anyone running over the 1GB limit apple says the board has.

I've come across an reply or two saying that 512 stick won't do.

Currently, it's running Gnu/Linux (Ubuntu) as a personal MU* server, but I'm just starting to get ideas on how I can push performance.

Thanks for reading.

The best idea that I can come up with is this. Get a SATA card. Get Gigabyte's RAMdisk. Get some DDR to put on the card. Install everything and set your virtual memory to be on the RAMdisk.
