Ok I have talked below about a chip swap. Well today I got offered a 500mhz working motherboard and good battery for the display on the 867 that needed a new ribbon cable. So I said sure why not.
Here is what I have:
Powerbook G4 867mhz with a chip on it blackend (See picture)
and the Powerbook G4 500mhz with what appears to be the same chip.
What do you think the odds are they will be close enough to the same to work?
I have a working DVI 800mhz thats fine but I would rather not use its chip as its worth more then the 500mhz G4
