I have a 17" PB G4 1ghz that I will be replacing in December, since the CompUSA warranty on it has declared it a lemon, due to (of all things) the keyboard. I'm just waiting to replace it so that I'll get the best possible machine.

My question is this: can I overclock the machine so that I'll get some extra oomph for the last 5 months of its life? Or better yet, can I overclock it without turning it into an expensive doorstop?

This is for the 15" PowerBook. Dunno if it works for the 17" PB, proabably not though.

Yeah, I saw the thread below, but even that only mentions the 1.33 and 1.5 PBs. I figure this is the best chance I'll get to void my warranty and gain some experience without just blindly soldering all over the place. I was hoping for something that at least mentions my model, since I'm not too sure if the logic board changed between mine and the next speed jump on the processor.
