I have apparently been too rough with my old G4 tower and detached the heat sink from the processor card. I can only assume that overheating is causing it to lock up at random. Has anybody ever had success in gluing the heat sink back on to the cpu?

dont use it without a heatsink. google thermal paste. remove the old paste before new stuff on.

I would call sonnet and ask them. It's possible they did glue the heatsink on, and if you don't fasten it with the proper firmness, it's not going to do its job well.

Since it's a tower, and you've probably got some room in there, I'd look at maybe some kind of fan instead of just the heat sink. Might make a big difference.
