Hi all,

I've upgraded my PowerPC PowerBook G4's hard drive from 30GB to 100GB and the Combodrive CD-R to a SuperDrive DVD-R (and messed up the F1 and F12 keys but anyways).

What kind of RAM do I need? I guess I just swap out my 512MB chip for a 1GB chip? But what kind and where do I go for good pricing?

Thanks, all. Here is my system info:

Ah, poop. Looks like the most I can do is 768MB DDR?

Hardware:

Hardware Overview:

Machine Name: PowerBook G4 12"
Machine Model: PowerBook6,4
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.1)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 1.33 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 512 MB
Bus Speed: 167 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.8.3f1
Serial Number: XXXXXXX

... snip ...

Memory:

DIMM0/BUILT-IN:

Size: 256 MB
Type: Built-in
Speed: Built-in
Status: OK

DIMM1/J31:

Size: 256 MB
Type: DDR SDRAM
Speed: PC2700U-25330
Status: OK

But my questions still stand? I want to make sure I get the right RAM. Thanks!

According to mactracker, you CAN go to 1.25GB, and need to get a 1GB DDR 333/PC2700, 200pin SODIMM.

Personally I prefer datamem.com. Grreat prices, fast shipping, no cost-no hassle return/exchange policy.........
