I just installed the XLR8 Machspeed G4 600 zif into a B&W G3 400.

Everything went well until I booted the machine after placing the zif.

I get a blank screen that says 'please check signal' in a blue box.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Did you patch the firmware to remove the G4 firmware-based upgrade block that Apple put in ?

If not, you will have to re-install your orginal G3 cpu, apply the patch, and then re-install the G4.

IIRC you can get the patcher from OWC's tech support page, and probably Sonnet & Powerlogix too
