Greetings all...

I have a Dual 1.25 Ghz MDD G4 (non FW800). One of the CPU's went bad. I see them on ebay occasionally, but I'm wondering if which CPU modules will work in that model. Will a dual 1.42? Will a CPU from a FW800 model work in a non-FW800 logic board?

Thanks!!

If it's from an MDD with a 167MHz bus, it'll work at its rated speed. If it's from an MDD with a 133MHz bus (Dual 867MHz and 1GHz) you'll need to take a soldering iron to your motherboard to align its bus speed with that of the slower processor card.

Basically, it's more hassle than it's worth; stick to 167MHz parts.
