I have an 867 12" powerbook and I was wondering if it was possible to put the logic board of a 1.5 12" powerbook into my 867. I know that I might have to swap the bottom case because the DVI to external monitor is different from 867 to 1.5.

Any one done this or could give me some info that would prevent me from doing this. the main reason on putting the 1.5 logic board into my 867 is the 64mb video card and increased processor and ram

Apple laptops have their video directly soldered to the logic board. Even if you could get your physical computer board to fit, you would only be getting the screen from the newer computer and not the video that drives the screen.

If this isn't a troll, then it definitely isn't something you want to try. Not understanding what's needed to even have this work means you'll be hacking up a perfectly good machine and in the end likely wrecking the laptop.

If you swap the DC to DC board too, it ought to work. (Thats the one by the battery, NOT the power jack.) Not actually tried it though, but the LCD is the same, LVDS connector is fine. Battery will work. The DC in board looks the same, though I guess you might need one of those too. And drives are drives. Its possible you might need the cables/connectors, some of the later PBs had different ATA arrangements. Probably just the 15", but it might be the 12" too.
The mounts for the boards are the same. I guess you might need the right heat sink, but from memory those are the same too. Its certainly doable. You might try a local repair centre for a unit with a dead board. Maybe you could buy the rest of the bottom half.
