I've seen a few pics of people with their 2nd screen at 90 degrees.. I've found how to get the text to display that way, but how do you best get the physical screen sideways without having that huge foot hanging out?

you can use a monitor mount, or you can just take off the foot and prop it against something. even though that might be a bit risky.

you can pick up any standard VESA mount stand - take a look around and you'll find some nice ones that should do what you want.
