Hello,

I have an HFS+ drive that's got bad or missing superblocks. The data on it is not critical, but I'm wondering if I ought to replace the drive or just reformat it.

As far as I know, the drive has never been dropped or otherwise mishandled.

Are problems with bad/missing superblocks caused by physical drive failures or are they not necessarily related?

Thanks,

Peter

Could be a software or hardware issue. If it's not critical and backed up, I'd just keep using it.
