Hello all, I am new to this forum and I just wanted to say "hey". I was also wondering if there is any way that anyone might know how to change the battery cycle count number displayed in the system profiler. My cycle count is 388 and my battery is consumed. I don't have any money to buy a new battery and I wasn't sure if this would be possible or not to change the count. Is there a program or would I have to go into the terminal and do this?
Thanks!

What are you hoping that changing the value will achieve?
I hope you're not trying to con someone...

I would expect it's kept in the chip on the battery - why do you want to change it?

Well I'll be honest with you. I wanted to change it so it could be under 300 cycles so that it would still be covered under warranty by apple so I could get a new one for free. I'm just a college student with no money. But I'm not going to try and do it because its not the best idea to do.

Best to save up and buy a new one.
Trying to beat the system won't end in happiness - or a new battery.
