Hey folks, hopefully someone here can provide me with somewhat of an answer without threatening to sell me out to Apple. First off, I love Apple products, and have faithfully spent over $17,000 with them. If I could buy a four wheel Apple vehicle, I would. I hate to think of this, but at the same time, it's not that bad. I have a real need for a netbook. Real bad..I'm mobile all day long, and I program using Xcode, mainly the entire iPhone SDK. Problem, I have two newer Mac items, iMac(home) and MacBook Pro(wife). I use an older iBook G4 with Leopard while I'm on the go, but cant use the SDK due to lack of Intel based processor. I'm not really wanting(financially) to buy another laptop for me for $1000 plus only to have the newer models(still waiting for Apple touchscreen..) come out later this year, early next year. I could reason with my wife easily to spend $500-600 versus $1000-$1300 after upgrading. I have yet to find anything relating the hackintosh netbooks, to the iPhone SDK. So here is the question:
If I were to convert a netbook into a hackintosh, could I successfully run the iPhone SDK? Has anybody done it? Can they still do it? Can you prove it to me? Thanks.

Some around here have talked about their hackintosh netbooks, but you're not going to find much help in getting one set up. I think the insanelymac.com forums are a better place to go for help on this subject.

Thanks for the responses. Wasn't necessarily looking for instructons on how to do it, just wondering if anybody has and uses the iPhone SDK.

If you can get OS X running, there shouldn't be a problem running the SDK.

I hear that the merchandise return policies in many non-Apple computer stores are way better than Apple's. You'd risk nothing if you get a osx86-compatible netbook and try it out.

Samsung NC10. Once I get the Dell wireless card installed, it will be 100% - audio, video, external display, bluetooth, ethernet, etc. There is a really good step-by-step guide out there and installation was barely more than installing OS X + a couple patches (PM me if interested in this model).

Some have gotten away with installing the CHUD tools, according to that thread.
