can I do it? I have a 533 G4 and a USB 250 Zip drive.. i'm having issues with the zip drive (there's a thread on it in G4 forum) and I'm starting to think it's the power connection in the back of the drive..

BUT... this seems like a mess waiting to happen..i.e. the drive being set up for usb/scsi connection 'with' a power cord..

I guess I was hoping to make it internal IDE?? connection (I think) or have it hooked up like the zip internal that the Apple store sells.. is this something really difficult? or suprisingly simple..?

I haven't seen the guts of a USB Zip, but the SCSI internal is a different machanism than the external unit. A conversion didn't look possible to me, so I traded a guy an external(I have 3 or 4) for an internal to stick in the floppy spot of my old 8500. Works fine now, had to widen the slot in the bezel about an eighth inch each side to accomodate the Zip disk.
