Anybody know how you could overclock a 7100/80 AV? It would kinda be fun.

There used to be chips you could clip on-top of the original timing chip to increase the Processor speed. I'd recommend either getting the 1MB cache for your machine, or get a G3 upgrade from one of the vendors who sell them.

Simply overclocking the machine won't give you much anymore.

BTW, the 7100 could run Linux quite well if you have other machines for your major work. It works well as a web and fileserver.

Do you know where I can find a overclocker chip thing? I have a G3 upgrade but I want a faster bus speed.

I think the G3 upgrade overrides any other processor stuff on your motherboard. If you don't have the settings to set the mobo speed on your upgrade, changing the original processor's speed won't affect that at all.

Glad to hear you have a G3 upgrade on it. I'd be impressed to see how it performs!

But you can't set the LB via the G3 upgrade card, unlike on PCI based upgrades in 7600 type computers. I know I can go get a 7100/80 and that would boost the bus speed to 40 from 33. but I was wondering if there is a clocking chip to boost it. another option is to go get a 8100/80, they do have more ram sockets but I need DT in the space I have setup.
