I have completed my customization of my PowerBook Duo. I needed something refreshing.

Have a look at it here.

The more of these paint jobs I see, the more I think about my Lombard...

Nice work!

Very nice and clean job, btober. I'm impressed.

Has there been a resurgence in PowerBook/iBook paintjobs recently? Or am I just making it up?

Nice. Very well done.

You must be a decent person, since YOUR LATCH ISN'T BROKEN. How very upsetting it is to find a Duo with a broken latch (or an old 5xx series). Gives me chills to think how such a machine must have been treated.

Long live the Duo.

Very nice job. I'm gettin the itch to start tinkering again with my Pismo. As of now it is silver but the vinyl sheeting is scratched up a bit. I would really like to do some painting. . .

I was thinking about this.

Have you put it into a dock yet, to see where the paint will rub. After you've done it a few times, be sure to clean the paint scrapings out from under the cover.

I've decided to eventually paint one of my old Powerbooks like this. Looks cool.

Well, I used the Pactra 'bonding' paint, so it shouldn't chip off, but I have put it in my dock several times and haven't noticed any wear, so I guess that's good.

Have you got one of the 'big' docks. If you doo doesn't it look kind of odd? I all ways thought the 'big' duodocks looked cool, the way the normal desktop colour of the upper half kind of engulfed the powerbook colour of the lower half. It really emphasised what the thing did.

p.s. I want a UK dictionary for OSX

Yes, I do have a desktop dock. It does look a bit strange, and I was thinking about painting it as well, but then I decided against it.

Well, I have placed my PowerBook on eBay. If anyone wants to check it out, go to http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=1252871917

You gotta post some pictures of everything, otherwise you'll never get your minimum bid.

Is your dock capable of taking a color Duo? (Does it have lots of space above the 230 when you insert it?)

Good luck with the auction.

waffffffle, I've been wanting to do up my Wallstreet II. Could you give me some more info on what you used to cover your Pismo? Maybe a couple pics as well? I've seen some really nice looking Wallstreet and Pismo books but never have found ot what anyone is covering them with. Any help would be appreciated.

i had an unexpected reason to mod my old 233 wallstreet...i accidently gouged the rubberized stuff on the top and was surprised to find a gleeming aluminum underneath. i took some acetone and just removed the rest of that rubber stuff so now the middle section is a cool aluminum which looks most excellent against the black plastic on the sides. sorry i have no pictures but its a simple mod for those who want to spice up an old computer.
anyone have better ideas for how to remove the rubber stuff? it was kinda hard to get it all off and im still trying to get bits off.
after that i think im going to take some steel wool to it to give it a brushed look since scratches show up pretty easily.
