but I am having stability problems with Toast 4.x .
I have tried disabling the Toast driver with no effect.
I am running Mac OS 9.1 on a B/W 350.
Any hints will greatly be appreciated.

What kind of Que! drive is it? FireWire, USB?
What are you trying to do? What are the errors?
If no errors, what exactly is going wrong?
Make sure your RAM cache is set high, with a decent allocation to the application itself (via Get Info window).
How much RAM do you have?
Did you have this problem under OS 9.04?
Do you have iToons installed? If so replace the CD driver you have with an older version...
What else is on the USB bus if its a Que! USB? Try unplugging everything and using it.
Try booting with no USB peripherals in except the kb/mouse, then plug in the Que! and try it.

We HAD a Que! drive at work. Nothing but problem, ended up taking it back. Only advice I can offer you is to AVOID USB CD-Rs.

CIPHER13:
1) USB
2) Trying to get true 4x out of drive; figured putting it in the tower would get speed increase...(wrong)
2a) a CD can be loaded and seen on the dsktop but when trying to access from the finder or from Toast 4.x, Toast gives an error I/O -36, then the drive disappears from recognition.
3) Answered previously
4) DUH, always set to "Generous speed x2"
5) 224mb, with VM to 230mb
6) MacOS 9.1
7) No, SJ works better for me...
8) Pluged into seperate USB card in slot (ADS is a great card)
8a) Tried that also, first thing actually, w/ no difference...
9) Answered previously...
The items that I have pluged into are a QuickCam VC(crappy quality BTW, except w/ Apple Video Player), an Epson 1160, UMAX Astra 2100(unpluged for AppleWorks 6 to work--haven't tried with v. 3.7.5 drivers), WACOM 6x9 tablet, & a VST floppy drive.

Hm... what version of Toast? Have you tried Toast Deluxe 4.12?
Try plugging into USB port 2 on the Tower, not the ADS card.
If your drive is supported, its a USB problem - bad port, bad cord, bad drivers... try updating the drivers. Something like that.
Increase the cache to 64 megs, and increase Toast's Finder RAM allocation (via Get Info window).
