I work for a non-profit as a graphic designer and I work on an iMac DV 400. We don't have the money for me to work on a PowerMac or a TiBook.

I am dying from palette overload on this 15" screen and was wondering if anyone had heard of a way to hack the video. Is this just a stupid question? Can I just replace the video card?

Thanks.

The video chip is capable of this, I believe.
I think the magic here is done in the driver for the graphics chip- Who do you know who can code a driver - for os 9? for OS X?
(drivers for OS X may be easier, because developer documentation is more readily available.)
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

Apple's documentation says that spanning is not possible with the current chip. I don't really think that I know anyone capable of writing a driver for me. Can anyone recommend any sites that might have some info on this problem? I have researched it a lot myself. By the way, I am running OS 9.1.
