Would it be possible to put an old G4 466Mhz into a new quicksilver G4 case. I would say people sell them on eBay, but it would be a while before they'll be there.

Oh yeah, does anyone know if xlr8 or sonnet released a G4 processor upgrade more than 500Mhz yet, for example 533Mhz, I want to be sure they intened or have released a G4 upgrade that have a decent clock speed.
Stuff is great, never take it for granted.

I don't think so. The QuickSilver uses a completely different motherboard, although the same architecture.

You probbaly don't nead the entire case. Just the outer plastic parts, you could even (maybe) just get the new front and top part's and swap them with the old graphite parts.

Go to your loacl dealer saying that you want case parts for the new G4. As they are all the same in structure, just not color, it would be a simple case of just snaping off the old ones and putting on the new ones. it will cost about $100 for all the parts...

...I think someone has changed his G4 graphite case back to the old G3...I'll look for the link...

on the Quicksilver, the power button/speaker are in diff locations I believe, so some work would have to go into getting everything correct..the SIDE panels, however, are easily replaceable.

Agreed, the only problem with switching the cases would be having to rewire the power, restart button, and speaker. But if i were you i would just save the $100 and wait until they come out with a new minitower. I dont see much function in pretending its a newer G4.
