Has anybody had success in using a PCI GeForce2 MX such as the one from Hercules in Beige machines?

I've been reading about this here at xlr8yourmac.com and while people are saying that they won't work because of OF Rev, there is nothing more really said about it.

Anybody have any stories to tell? Wins/Losses?

*New 4/29* I picked up a Hercules ProphetII MX PCI before I knew of the beige incompatibilities. Apple System Profiler didn't recognize it out of the box like some say it does, but did after I flashed the EPROM. Still, the Apple Nvidia update wouldn't install, so I opened up the tome, and put the extensions/whatnot in my System folder under 9. Still nothing. OS X would only kernel panic.

One of my friends called Apple and asked them the same question. After talking to two morons as he called them he finally talked to someone who was almost completely sure that it would work because the GF2 driver updates the card's firmware which should overwrite the PC firmware on the card. I'm very tempted to try this seeing as you can get GF2 PC PCI cards for $99. I'd be curious if anyone has tried this and what the results were.
