I know there have been several threads that talk about adding a second IDE CD/RW to the Zip drive slot. While I hesitate to cut into the bay, I probably will once the warranty expires.

A bigger question, though: why hasn't Apple considered redesigning the case to accomodate two drives? How many people actually add a zip drive to their G4/G3 towers anyway?

Me: No zip, not ever.

I hate Iomega.

Why doesn't Apple put an extra bay? Because Steve Jobs doesn't need one

Point-counter point...

I have a DP500 with a ZIP in it. 100, don't care for the 250's.
All in all, Iomega has had the best service I've encountered in anything computer related.
I've had two drives replaced, new parts at my door the next day.
I use Zip disks as floppies, between my Mac and PC at work and my Mac at home.

I have an internal SCSI, IDE and three externals, all Zip 100 and a 1GB JAZ that never should have been released. it makes a good paperweight tho.
