OK I will start a new thread, because although topic has been covered before some of the info I need leaves me a tad in the dark. The point that throws me a little is the reuse of the circuitboard from the original ROM. If the original is dead or acting up would it be likely to be the old board? If so are they available new still?
Today is yesterday's tomorrow. Do it tomorrow.

Sorry I didn't write here earlier-

I don't know where to get those boards... but I think it's unlikely that the board is the problem unless the board has a bad capacitor on it, and you'd know if that were the case.

I'd be more ready to blame the drive itself than the circuit card on the back.
