I am going to overclock my new 733MHz QS G4. I know I can up it to 800MHz without any problems, but has anyone gone from 733 to 867? That is a big jump. I know every chip is different on how much you can overclock it. I just want to know if anyone has successfully overclocked the new 733 G4 to 867MHz and it still runs just as stable. If anyone has any questions or comments please reply to this or email me at rfitz@mac.com. Thanks.

What do you think you'd get in quake III, 2000 fps?

I want to go from 733MHz to 867MHz. Not GHz in there. I am looking for serious feedback. If anyone has done this to their 733MHz QuickSilver G4 successfully, please let me know.

Someone in the XLR8yourmac forums had done it, although I don't have a link.

I'm not sure why you'd want to. You could have bought a 733 machine with an 867 processor for about $300 more plus you would have a 2MB L3 cache.

The warranty and possibly more stable would have been worth the $300 to me.
