I want to know if any one had experence with sodering on a biger memory chip into a Rio backpack like replaceing the 32 with like a 128 or 64?

That would be cool but there are alot of variables like the firmware or whatever might not recognize a large amount of memory but if its reletivly easy to replace the one could try. Just make sure the memory is the same type/manufacturer. Since I have never cracked the case on a Rio or even used one I have no idea.

It might work, but like aplhamatix said, there could be firmware issues. As long as you stay within spec, like mem speed, module density (mBit for mBit), etc, it should be cool. It might even be a standard type of module, i.e. CF or something, with a different interface. Have you opened one up to look at it? Got pics?

I haven't gotten the back pack part f or my rio but I should get it soon P.S. I am not talking about moding the rio by it's self just the backpack that lets you add more momory to a rio 600 or 800
