Hi...

I'm still using an older PowerMac 7300, that's the one with the beige Desktop-case. If you don't know what I'm talking about, take a look:

My PowerMac 7300

I guess you'll agree to the fact, that this case looks damn boring, and I thought about changing that I did it before, with some of my PC-cases so I'm not a Newbie when it comes to case-modding.
I thought about the following:
Make the case red, really red. On top of it, with a template, a big (I'd say about 10-12" in scope) silver apple. Then make the whole thing somehow look like it was covered with a transparent layer, what should be possible with clear lacquer (I did that before, doesn't look perfect, but better than without it)

What do you think about it? What would you change?

I say go for it.... Lacquer is pretty nasty stuff, though. An automotive-type urethane clearcoat might be better? (make sure you wear a mask either way) I dunno if I'd go with a blood-red though, maybe like a dark maroon??

Wish I could have afforded a 15" TFT screen, SCSI HDD's and Voodoo graphics when I was a student

Case mods, how about trying here, under Forums - Cool Cases (I think), there are hundreds of ideas in there

Well, I bought all this stuff over time... that's one reason why I'm still using a five year old computer
And I could never have afforded the harddrives, I got them for free. A friend gave them to me, said they don't work anymore. I took them, tested them, tried a LowLevel-Format and they were back to life, that's what I call luck.
