I recently bought a serial port/USB adapter. I'm trying to get my printer to work off of my powerbook.

When I plug it in I get a prompt that says unable to get software drivers for "Untitled device"

Is there a place I could set the ID of the device I'm trying to attach?
If I download the USB drivers that go with the printer will it automatically make the connection?

Has anyone successfully converted from serial to USB?

Does this thing go Serial > USB, or USB > Serial? If it's serial>usb, that's cool, because I've never heard of anything that will translate RS2XX to USB..

Look at the manufacturer's site for a driver or manual for it.

I don;t think it's possible to go from serial to usb- it's a huge speed difference, and USB carries power.

I think.
