Hi!

Iīve got an old LC II collecting dust which I would like to modify. First, does it really need the noisy fan? .....I canīt imagine 68k Macs to produce that amount of heat.....

Yeah, it absolutely does. It won't last very long without it. Mainly because those old harddrives put of a great deal of heat.
He can be fixed -- you can't.
