Nothing much to add to the subject. Someone built a K7 Athlon into a G4 case. Very cool I thought, just have a look for youself:

They did okay, but I've seen a nicer one where they mounted the motherboard on the drawbridge, Apple style... Doing it the way it's shown at this webpage negates the purpose of the easy-access case.

Hypothetical- g4 mobo dies out of warranty. perfectly good case, and affordable, easily obtainable PC parts... Athlon in G4 case! Makes sense to me!

Still I would have mounted the mobo on the same drawbridge door as the apple board. Relocating the mobo inside the case defeats the practicality in using a G4 case in the first place.

Why do that to such a capable machine?

Personally, if anything, I'd go the other way (G4 into ATX maxi).

Whoever did this mod just limited their Athlon to one 5.25" drive... haha!

BTW: Is it running Linux or windows? (some heads will roll if it's windows)

I would use a Performa in a G4 case before I used an Athlon in one.
Saaaaaaay....
Hmmmmm....
