Wonder if anyone here knows anything that could help...
The catch in the palmrest that holds the screen closed broke on my iBook. So, me being me, I industriously attacked my iBook with a couple of allen keys and my Handspring's built-in screwdriver, opened it, found the part, reglued the thing together with an old floppy disk and some araldite (longer story ...) and that was fine.

now, the catch broke again, so I decided to try and fix it. Only this time I found out that some cable that went from the motherboard to the screen got caught in the casing, and the screen's backlight flickers sometimes and the sleep light doesn't light up anymore. The iBook still works fine otherwise, but I'd like to try and fix these two things.

Any ideas?

Well, how hard would it be to reattach the wires? couldnt be TOO bad, unless, well yha it just shouldnt be too bad, i mean as long as u connect the right wires back together, and make sure they dont touch anything else, i dont think it can hurt to try. . . . . .
