I have 2 LCs and an LC II, all with keyboards, mice, monitor etc, and in good working, as well as a lot of spare time on my hands... Anyone have ideas for mods? They're useless to me right now, so I don't mind if I accidentally destroy one or two(or three for that matter). The only limit would be $$$.

transplant an iMac into the LC case.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

Or transplant an LC into an iMac case. That would be funny to see. Completely useless, but funny to see.

I have an LC II with monitor, stylewriter, keyboard, mouse, external SCSI HD, and an ethernet card and an old giant HP deskwriter. I really wish I could make some use of it. It's just taking up space in my house. I feel bad throwing it away since it's a Mac. If it was a PC then I probably would have no problem with it (but I'm not sure since I've never owned one). I feel like there has to be some use for it. I don't think selling the thing is practical since it would cost more to ship the thing than I would be able to make on it if I sold it on ebay. I once tried to set it up to do some Finale 2.7 work but it performed so miserably slow that I just gave up. If anyone has a clue as to what I can do with it please let me know. Mod or not, I would feel bad throwing the thing out.

Well, you could install this upgrade:

<a href="http://www.sonnettech.com/product/presto_plus.html" target="_blank">http://www.sonnettech.com/product/presto_plus.html</a>

Then your LC II would be fit for a few tasks. I mean seriously, 66MHz can actually do a lot of work. You can check e-mail, surf the internet (not the newer web sites), work processing and more. However, the upgrade $149.95 with an FPU. So, unless you are an enthusiast, I wouldn't ever bother with this upgrade.

These are all good ideas, but every one except for the 3-floor drop requires something hard to get(like a transparent case?). Well, when I finally decide what to do with them, i will get pictures/movies up on the internet, so don't worry about that.

btw, does anyone know how to get an LC/LC II to conect to the internet thru a DHCP router? I have ethernet cards, but i'm lost as to the software to use

Assuming your ethernet cards are working, you'll need to install open transport. I can't remember what version of the Mac OS started shipping with Open Transport but it should be available as a standalone download. I don't think MacTCP supports DHCP but Open Transport does.
