I'm facing some kind of dillema here.

I have like 400 canadian bucks to spend. (250 USD)
Should I sell my G4 400 AGP with a screen for 1500 CAND ( I already have an offer ) and buy an eMac,

OR

Gather info on how to flash a geforce 3 ti, buy it, flash it, install it, enjoy? for the same price.

So
an eMac 700 128MB ram or a PM 400 AGP 512 MB RAM, nicer display, GF3 Ti?

Now if I choose the second one, please HELP me.
I donno how to flash cards.
What should I buy
How do I flash?

thanks

First off give us more information on what you're wanting to do and why you are looking at these particular options.

As far as the eMac goes, why would you want to go from a high end model Mac to the cheapest thing Apple is selling? Sure the eMac is faster than your current G4 tower but it is still a step down from a professional grade system to something even schools won't touch.

This goes back to the first I said but why do you want to overload on a Geforce card? Right now both seem like really bad choices but then again I don't know what your situation is. More details, please.

Okay. my situation
Since I moved entierly to OSX ( got 9 completly deleted )
I had to sacrifice a big amount of fps in quake3 urban terror, wolf, and medal of honor. Now I want to have fun sometimes and for me it's necessary too have a wolf/q3/mohaa/ game every week. But HELL on my g4 400, wolf runs like crap, mohaa runs like crap, quake3 runs like crap. Show what should I do? Update the proc / gfx card?? with what? I wont buy an emac it was just an idea what can I do now?

Honestly, I would reinstall OS 9 on the machine (it really doesn't take up that much hard drive space) and boot to OS 9 to play the games. I know, going pure OS X is great, but the gaming software simply isn't up for the job yet. It's like running a cool Windows game through Virtual PC...it simply isn't worth the effort.

Reinstall and run your games through OS 9 (which is what I do on my iBook), save your cash, and then when you have more funds buy a new G4 tower with the GeForce4 Ti card factory installed. Going with either an eMac or flashing that video card simply aren't good long term investment choices.

What I would do is buy either a Geforce3 (macresq.com) or a Radeon 8500 (PC, and flash it, Geforce 3's are hard to find that are flashible). Along with a decent processor upgrade when you get a bit more cash (550mhz?) I'm running RTCW on my Cube/Radeon with no prob. Yeah it does runa bit crappy, but it's worth it to be 9 free.

give me a link, I'll buy it
If you know how to flash it... tell me...

the proc upgrade I could buy is http://www.sonnettech.com/product/encore_st.html
and it's damn expensive...
