In an effort to cool my already hot chip, I want to get some more fans. I'm thinking that 2 up above my iMac's monitor, blowing up, would help. Possibly some more fans in the bottom somewhere.... not sure yet. Anyway, someone mentioned before that I could use a Y cable to power them. Well... A "Y" cable is just simply a cable that splits the power right? So whats the difference if I just splice some more fans in? Does anyone know how many fans I can attach before the power supply gets kinda stressed? I'm curious.

Y cables? bah, do it how a real man does it. Tape the wires of the smaller fan onto the negative/positive connectors of the 6 volt terminals and a more powerful fan on the 12V connectors, don't use wussy Y connectors, it just makes things easier (Heh I did this for the fan in my biege g3). Need more than 2 fans? Then connect more fans in parallel with the voltage you desire (though the voltage will gradually decrease and fan power will decrease as you add more components).

TAPE the wires?!? Why not use solder? >shrugs<

Anyway, where are these 12 and 6 volt terminals? I have no clue where to find them. Any help?

Kinda hard to disconnect it if you soldier the thing

Anyways, the connector has colored wires leading to it, on mine, they are red/blac/black/yellow. The two blacks are positive terminals, each one meant for the colored one next to it. I think the electromotiveforce voltage between the red terminal and its corresponding positive black terminal is 6V and the yellow one being 12V, not sure, and in no mood to turn off this computer and check, heh...

yellow is 12v and red is either 5 or 6v
