I've got a plan drawn up at this stage for a Rack/MT/Desktop case for a G4 sporting a 4 tray hot-swappable SCSI or Firewire RAID setup. Right now, I'm tring to see if there is any interest out there for a product like this? I'm thinking this could really take off in the high DV editing or Server markets. Any input would be appreciated.

Any input on what would be a better RAID medium at the current time... SCSI or Firewire?

You may have a bit of demand for this as Pinnacle has announced a High Definition Non-Linear Editor for Macintosh only (www.pinnaclesys.com.) However, we are talking about extremely fast HDDs (12,000rpm or faster) striped together. RAID may slow the system down too much I don't know (the system can push out SDTV and HDTV at the same time, that's not an easy thing for a HDD.) Anyhow, just thought you would like to know.
