been searching far and wide for a way to open my ibook to replace the speaker which just blew... any docs available on the net?

Lots of screws, but the speaker is available early on in the process...

Getting to the speaker isn't too bad, and as long as you are really carefull with the screws, as the metal is quite soft and they get cross threaded quite easily.
If the speaker just blew though, it might be better to get it fixed under warranty, rather than trashing your warranty.
If however, you're planning on putting a better speaker in, let us know how well it works ?
