I just took an old beige G3 jumper and put it into my Yosemite. Now I'm running a stable 400Mhz from my original 300Mhz.

wouldn't regular cheap little jumper thingys work? they look to be about the right size... Heck, I have like 20 jumper thingys from my EE project from last term...and they should fit well...
G4/450, T-bird 1.05GHz, iBook 500, iBook 233...4 different machines, 4 different OSes...(9, 2k, X.1, YDL2.2 respectively) PiA to maintain...

i thought that regular jumpers would work too- but no dice. normal sized hard drive jumpers seemed too big and did not make connections for me.

maybe i just had weird jumpers?

either way, i cracked my block when i tried all this and even if i don't boot at higher speeds at least i'll have an unbroken 350 block.

There's actually (at least) 2 different sizes of jumper used on a harddrive. The big ones (what I think of as "normal" sized), which on the older Segate drives (which is where I 'stole' jumpers from) are used for SCSI ID, and the smaller ones, which (again on the Segate drives) control the power-up behaviour and termination.

Using the small ones, I took a G3/300/66MhZ bus up to 333/83, so they definitely work. This does, certainly take a good deal of experimentation, so as always, YMMV...

got my jumpers.

overclocked my 350 to 400 mhz sucessfully. runs in the same range (27-35 degrees C according to sonnet metronome)

even ran 12 hours of seti@home without going beyond 35 C
