Ok... does this chip run hot? Or is it cool? Im guessing it will have a copper core, and that it will run at least as hot as mine does now (140ish F)...

Here's my question. Anyone overclocked one? If you could squeeze just 33 more mhz outta it it'd be a cool 500, the fastest iMac Ive ever heard of.

33Mhz OC should be no problem. The real trouble is ...... Newer manufactures the module........

Don't expect too much headroom for it.

I once managed to get a 366 NewerZIF to run 320 (Processor) /320 (backside) It's incredibly stable and smooth.

YMMV

My 466 runs at a steady 123F. It's been on three weeks straight. The hottest I've seen it get was about 125.

I'd compare the arrangement of the little over-clocking resistors against their known configurations on non-newer daughtercards. If Newer's 466 arrangement is different from the previously recorded setting, it may cause problems for you, indicating other significant changes to the card!

Or maybe I'm just a chicken!

No, they're the exact same daughtercard, remember? They had to reuse 233mhz Apple daughtercards because it has the ROM in it, and Apple wont legally let them reproduce it, so they had to modify existing daughtercards. Soo... I think it should work, but I have no money for it, so I guess its a moot point. However, it would be SOOO cool to bump it to 500 (Cuz itd be the fastest iMac in the world, that I'm aware of )
