(Posted this in the Powerbook forum also, sorry for the redundancy)

Hey all, I'm looking for some kind soul to provide me with DETAILED instructions (in english) on how to do the silver powerbook thing. I'd love to do it - but I've never worked with those materials before, and the pages I've seen kinda assume that you know how to handle everything.

I need to know exactly what to use, what to expect, and how you are supposed to cut it with an xacto without hurting your book!
Please let me know here, or email if you can help. Thanks!

Blah.

Go to your local sign maker. Ask for some 3M ScotchCal in silver. It should have an adhesive side. Bring it home. Cut it in half. Line up one half over the outer section of the powerbook. Fold on edges, and then take your fingernail, and draw along the groove seperating the outside section from the middle section. Repeat with other side. Cut out outline, but give yourself several inches of extra space. Remove adhesive side. Apply to PowerBook. Use blow-dryer to heat up the ScotchCal to stretch it if neccessary. Take exacto knife, and *slowly* drag along the groove seperating the outside piece with the middle section. Repeat with other sides.

Voila. The entire process is reversable, and doesnt leave and residue.

That will be $30, please.
